my nephew is 19 now and autistic, my brother got a grant to build an entire extension when my nephew was 10 just to accomodate him as he was aggressive and disruptive, he is completely different and the space and the independence helped greatly to calm him

the problem is that its illegal to lock the safety latch as the housing association tell me its a fire escape. I will ask for help with funding but up to now I have had no help, I needed assistance when I moved into this house to make the garden safe as my sone would eat everything in sight (he also has PICA)
in order to get the garden done I had to save up their DLA to fund the work. I am saving up for a front door at the moment, the charities never seem to help :/

hi TWR, I bet you have eyes at the back of your head by now! we have 2 children with this condition and with the pica my son is eating the cement off the corners of the wall, we have had to remove the lovely wallpaper in the hall as he was eating it is large amounts

its not the first time either nomercy, he escaped fom a gap the size of a tissue box at school, he was found (luckily) by an off duty policeman, the school have since spent thousands of pounds on improvements and my son has to be supervised at all times in school.
