How many C4 Countdown programmes are recorded in a day? Presumably more than one, which would require contestants to bring a change of clothing for each episode. How long is the gap between recordings?

In the old (Carol & Richard) days it used to be on average 4 recordings a day,BUT it could rise to 5 if the first four went smoothly without any re~takes,or fluffs etc.
I would imagine that this new crew would be expected (by their director) to do the same.
How long the gap is between recordings is a moot point,it can (it seems) vary from half an hour to 2 hours, again depending on how quickly each show takes to record.
I don't know for sure, but sometimes contestant's clothing is provided by the wardrobe department. Mainly to make sure they don't wear anything that will clash or strobe on TV.
Yes tonymclark,
That is a very good (and valid) point.
Also if the TV wardrobe supplies it,they can ensure continuity of clothing for different takes/recordings.
When we went to watch it was 2 in the morning session and 3 in the afternoon session, 2 different audiences.
The change overs are fairly sharp, the presenter etc go off and change, the episodes are recorded with the gap for ads put in..
There's a crowd rouser employed to jolly people along, and he can be heard with a raucous laugh in the background.
I know deal or no deal do 3/5 a day in bristol.
