We are visiting Portland Oregon late July early August, we understand that the town is an anarchist centre. We are socialists ourselves and we are wondering where the left bookshops are and places where we might be able to get in touch with the left element.
Other suggestions welcome, we are already planning to visit the beer festival.

Are you a Wobbly, then listen, buddy
For the One Big Union beckons to you
A workers' union, industrial union
Tell every slave you see along the line
It makes no difference what your colour,
Creed, sex or kind
Become a Wobbly and then we'll prob'ly
Get free from slavery

From the song 'Are You a Wobbly' by the International Workers of the World (or 'Wobblies'), American anarchist organisation of the early 20th century.

I consider myself a socialist, but I think we're after the same thing in the end. Good luck, comrade.

I am also a socialist. We heard that Portland was more of an anarchist place and there is a Red and Black cafe there as well as some other anarchic set ups.
Thank you very much for the Wobblies song. I must look for it on Youtube.
