Freezing and then heating food

I'm off on holiday soon and need to cook some meals for my Father to reheat. If I make some casseroles etc, and buy some foil containers. Can I prepare the dishes without completely cooking them fully - to then be placed in the oven at a later date? For example, if I made a beef stew, could I simply brown the meat and add veg then freeze - as opposed to cooking the dish ready to eat? Also, how long would they need to go in the over for? Any help would be much appreciated. thank you

I would cook the meal fully then if they are in
microwave containers , he can cook from frozen .
Or do the same in foil containers so he can use
the main oven. If they are frozen they would need
at least 45-50 mins at 180c .
The problem is, is this; if you don't cook your meal thoroughly then your Father is going to have to do it, so he's going to have to put his dish into the oven and cook it for an hour or two or so. By thouroughly cooking the dish, either he defrosts it then heats it through thoroughly or as theonlyone says, he can heat it through from frozen.
