Are there any tools to expose someones earnings/income/assets? We have a interim court order against someone & all along they have said they cannot afford to pay. He has his own business & they live in a 1m home!

Hi nfhhenry. If his company is limited it will be listed with companies house and the records are open to the public for a small fee. You could start by getting a copy of his company accounts for 3 from www.companieshouse.co.uk. This will list his share stake in the business if he is a director and the accounts will reflect net earnings carried forward and assets etc etc. It will also show any dividends paid to the directors and when. Also look at the www.landregistry.gov.uk/ to see who the owner of the property is where he lives. It should also show who the mortgage provider is if he has one. This will show if he has equity within his property. Once you have these details it will probably be worth your while seeking advice on how to cahrge against his assets. Your solicitor will normally conduct the necessary process to lay a charge against the assets equity etc. I am no expert but this will enable you to get to the detail.

Many thanks, should have said we have a charging order against his house, but feel I'd like to have evidence of their earnings as they continue to have holidays, own 2 cars, big touring caravan etc & husband doesnt exactly do long hours for his business. Don't think his co is a limited one. Hearing is in 4 weeks time & hoping they are not going to wiggle out of paying.
