Hi peeps! Back again on AB after a nice holiday away from Weston Super Mare.I've been on my computer for a couple of days trying to sort out Mozilla Firefox and have uninstalled it because every time I clicked on certain websites like AB for instance,a prompt kept on saying:-

Insecure Internet activity. Threat of virus attack
Due to insecure Internet browsing your PC can easily get infected with viruses, worms and trojans without your knowledge, and that can lead to system slowdown, freezes and crashes.
Also insecure Internet activity can result in revealing your personal information.
To get full advanced real-time protection for PC and Internet activity, register Antivirus 2008.
We recommend you to protect your PC now and continue safe Internet browsing.
Click here to get full advanced real-time protection and continue browsing.
Continue to this website unprotected (not recommended).
So,having uninstalled it and reinstalled,it stillkeeps on giving this prompt. It really is driving me nuts!! In the first option above where it says 'To get full advanced real...........clicking on this does not work.I do not know why!!!??
I found a website called Personal Antivirus,so I installed it,and it did it's job (i think it did) and this program keeps on finding Trojans, whatever they are,and low virus warnings.I tend to ignore these PA warnings.
As these PA prompts kept on popping up,I decided to uninstall it.It seems it will not uninstall.I tried to get rid of it using Add/Remove programs, but it was not there.Looks like it's a parasite that will not go away.
I used to use a number of weblinks on my normal Google browser, and now most of them are now blocked.I cannot get access to them anymore.I bet it's something to do with that bl@@dy Personal Antivirus program that I can't get rid of.
Heeeelllllppp someone!!! Any help will be gratefully received.I am in the need

Hmmm, some of my thread has disappeared there.Maybe there is a word limit on how many words you can use.
Well,the rest of it wasn't much.All I said was.....
I am in the need of some desperate assistance.
I'm nearly going up the wall with this damn PC of mine.
The PA prompts are getting on my nerves, the 'Insecure Internet activity. Threat of virus attack' prompts when I click on websites get on my nerves, and when my PC goes slow gets on my nerves, and most of all when my PC freezes up which does happen on the odd occasion.

Where's Buenchico (Chris), Chuckfickens,or anyone else with the technical brains when you need them.
Coz I ain't got any.........I've given up trying to fix these bloomin' problems.I have totally surrendered. The PC has finally beaten me..........just have to plod on with all these nasty bugs bugging me...gaaagh!!
:-(
Aaaagh!

As previously explained, your original problem was nothing to do with Firefox. You had a trojan on your computer which was trying to get you to register (for a payment) Antivirus 2008. The free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware was recommended for getting rid of the trojan.

Now you seem to have gone out of your way to put another malicious trojan onto your PC by going to the website of Personal Antivirus, which simply dumps a trojan on your PC with the aim of getting you to buy a product you don't need.

To get rid of the new trojan you once again need to use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Instructions are here. (See under "Automated Removal Instructions . . .":

Oh well,as no-one has responded to my query yet,I really want to know how to unblock my Google browser weblinks.I feel rather low now that I cannot access them.
Is it something to do with the Mozilla Firefox browser??

Sorry to bother you again Chris. You must think of me as a right Rodney plonker.
Just going to try that link of yours right now.I'll be back in a while...many thanks!
Question Author
Are you still up and about Chris??
I hope you are ,because many thanks to you I have managed to get rid of that awful Personal Antivirus program.
I am now over the moon.I really did not know that anyone could produce such a rotten program as that one.
Had I known about it,I wouldn't have touched it with a barge pole. So,thanks again my friend.Top marks to you!!
Now, I wonder if I can sort out this Firefox problem with 'Insecure Internet activity' prompt.Hmmm,I'll see what help anyone can provide with this prob.
I'll check this thread again tomorrow now,as it's getting a bit late.I have to get up early tomorrow as I'm heading off on a mystery coach trip at 8am.
So bye for now....night,night..

Oops, sorry carlton.Totally forgot about you.
I presume `Perfect Uninstaller` is another option I could use if something else does go wrong. So thanks for that my friend.
Cheers!!
I also developed a problem with Firefox. I would type in a page and it would open whatever it wanted.
I am now using Opera and that seems to be a lot faster.
