I have seen all the programmes on tv about it. But.
My sister has just told me they have booked a holiday in July. She said it was recommended by the travel agent. She knew nothing about the resort or its reputation.
She is 53, hubby is 60,daughter 22, 3 foster kids, 1 is 15. 1 is 14.1 is13.
She is now wondering if its the right choice and needs to know before Friday.
Anybody been there and is it a good resort for them?

Which is why it is worth doing you own research and not just trusting the word of the travel agent.

Search under "Kavos reviews" in Google.

I found this site

Here is one oif the reviews on that site

This was the worst holiday i have ever been on. My parents got it as a last minute teletext holiday and we all went expecting it to be as good as zante (our last holiday destination) but when we got there we were welcomed with drunk people stagging down the street, it was like a scene from michael jacksons thriller. Aswell as these zombie like people there was also the awful stench of sewage.

We stayed at Penny studios which was ok, the shower was blocked and the patio door wouldnt lock. But the worst thing was, it was opposite to a kareoke bar which didnt close until 5am. so we had to put up with that.
Its not the ideal place for a family holiday, as its full a bars and clubs.

The worst thing was the sea, me, my dad and sister went swimming in the sea only to catch an ear infection in both ears and have to be on antibiotics for 2weeks.

Since that holiday I have experienced the whole student life of the late nights and getting drunk. but even so I would never go back to kavos-even with my mates!

It is truly the worst place on earth!
Another says:

Advantages: HOT,CHEAP,EXCELLENT NIGHTLIFE,
Disadvantages: NONE,unless your over 35

I am really surprised a travel agent suggested this place for "older" people (I am 59 so count myself as "older").

Sounds to me you need to get back there quick and change the booking to another resort.

DONT let them charge you because you got bad advice, make a fuss in the travel agent (make sure they are busy so other customers see how bad they are) and if you make enough fuss they will rebook you to keep you quiet.
Kavos is not suitable for 53 or 60 year olds. The 22 year old might enjoy it but it's similar to the drunken nights of Ibiza.

Thanks everyone. You have backed up everything I tried to tell her.
Then I thought myabe I was wrong and there was a good bit and a bad bit. Like Playa da las Americas,Tenerife.
I will show her the comments. She is going to the travel agents today but I warned her that they will sell you the moon as a party place.
My sister doesnt own a pc and wouldnt know how to check the web anyway.
I just wish she had asked me sooner.
Thanks again
let us know what happened!!
Travel agents, as a rule, are idiots. I went in to Thomson's on Monday to get some Turkish Lira only to be told by them that the Turkish currency is now the Euro...................................................................................................................................................................................................
