Anyone reputable will want to meet you and your child, and shouldn't take any money up front. Avoid Models Direct - they accept most if not all applicants because you have to pay an admin fee. Tuesday's Child are supposed to be ok, they invited my daughter for an audition but it wasn't practical to travel to London, so I can't say for sure what they're like.
Tuesday's Child IS alright, and they had a place at Macclesfield, which I assume's still there. I'm sure you can google details.
The one thing your child has to be, is well behaved. Shoots often take a while, and there's a lot of hanging around. The one thing that studios don't like, is when children start wandering round all over the place, or get tired and start to cry. Unfortunately, this can happen with very young children, so quiet, happy ones stand more chance of being picked. Also you have to be prepared to turn up when asked - not always easy if your child's of school age.
i will second Kate.
DO NOT USE models direct. A whole forum of mine applied once and every baby was accepted. There was a fee to pay and they have been on Watchdog investigations.
Thanks, I found this thread informative too, hopefully baby velvetee will have the means to enter the entertainment or modelling world. He can help fund his own education from quite early on then :-)
