The clock on my laptop keeps losing time. It is not consistent and will inexplicably jump back days, hours or minutes. It happens even whilst I am using the laptop and it is plugged into the power. I wondered if it could be something to do with the internal clock battery but is this still used when the pc is being powered up?
Thanks

yes and no - but usually yes

open the clock - goto internet time enter the following server
uk.pool.ntp.org

I'm not convinced it will cure - but worth doing anyway just to eliminate it

a new batt should only cost a couple of quid - and on a lappy it's a piece of cake

download atomic clock from here http://download.cnet.com/windows/ just install and run it keeps your computer clock accurate , in fact spot on. type in search atomic clock
