"I hope you all are well despite the miserable day we have outside. After witnessing the strange planetary alignment, which brought about the unlikely event of sunshine on a bank holiday, I felt it to be a good time to update everyone."

Hi TCL... Update us with what?

"Myself and the Editor are not dead, nor have ceased to be. We exist and are trying to divide our time between the new AB and the moderation of the current site.

We would also like to say thank you for the poetry last week. It is good to see some people are willing to revert to bardic practices to get their message across.

There have been various slow-downs recently which I apologise for, this is the technical team having a poke around inside The Answerbank. We have been taking on suggestions from users regarding elements of Ab 2.0 and have passed them on to the technical team to see what they can come up with.

Thank you everyone for your input!

All the best,

Spare Ed "
oops you got it
[...] this is the technical team having a poke around inside The Answerbank - eeeeeeeew....!
what a useful tech team - they poke around inside the website and it crashes.

They will come in handy on AB 2.0.
Thanks TCL......... Did not realize the Ed and ?Spare Ed. communicated with the hoi poli. Many thanks...

Well, I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that the two month gap was well worth the wait...

On 24.12.2008 we were telt

"I do have a gift for you guys (in the form of AB 2.0), but you'll have to wait a few months yet for it! We do have a date for AB 2.0 to go live, but as with everything in the history of ever, it might be a little longer. No promises, but we're looking at March/April."

It is now almost June so the original three to four month schedule has slipped by two to three months already and there are no signs of its introduction.

Will we see it this side of Christmas?
For all those people who often say that we don't need input from the ed or a blog, as the site runs quite well without a blog, they really do have a point.
Laughing at that pic swedeheart.

Btw, spare ED and your boss.
My impression from reading the remarks from most posts on here, is that the majority of posters would like a few lines now and then. Just to keep up to date, so to speak.
A couple of lines on a Monday morning for example.
It needn't be an essay, just like..

'Hey Guys. Hope you all had a good weekend. The site has been running a bit slow over the weekend, but we are onto it. Have a nice week and happy posting!'

sort of thing. Maybe with a few kisses to keep the gals happy. :-)
bazzyman...You.ve made a good point.

It would be nice to have more info from Editorial staff; also Technical perhaps.

Perhaps then the AB Editor would have less e/mails about the problems we all encounter.......Ron
