Unable to sign into iTunes Account

After reloading iTunes following a drive format (Windows XP) I have placed all my data from my ipod n iphone back onto itunes. However when I try to sign into my itunes account the following page appears...........

Your request could not be completed.
Make sure your computer's date is set correctly and it accpt cookies from the iTunes store.

Both are fine but I cant get any further. What should be my next step? Thanks

Are you totally sure the date and time is correct?

Def all ok. Tempted to re-install iTunes to c if that works.

Yea, I'd try that.

But it sounds to be that the SSL certificates that it's checking aren't working right, which is 9/10 times a sign that something with the date and time is weird (hence the message it gave you).

Thanks fo3nix. Have double checked date n time, which were correct, but also placed a tick in the auto update box which seems to have sorted it! Thanks again! :-)
