Hello,
Recently I purchased one kingston pendrive of 80GB from unknown person. I verified its capacity at the shop itself on computer. later when i copied some files on pendrive. it start showing the files on the pendrive. However if I remove the pendrive and again connect it with computer, every thing simply disappears. The pendrive remains empty and showing full available capacity. I could not understand the reason.
One of my friend told me that 80GB pen drive is fake.
Any help would be appreciated.

80 gb isn't one of the "magic" numbers
2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128
looking on the kingston site there isn't any mention of 80Gb

some less than honest chinese mfrs have discovered a way of configuring flash mem devices so that they report false capacities

you could try swissknife

But contact the seller first (I bet they refund)
if not
if you paid by paypal .... drop them a line
then again ... if you insert it into your usb slot and squeeze ... with luck your head will explode

I don't know of any 80GB pendrives either. It seems like a very large number for a pendrive (right now).

That's the largest I can find --- 64GB.
