How do you zoom OUT with Microsoft paint??

I want to crop an imported file in MS paint. When I import it the picture is way bigger than the screen and so I wish to reduce the size somehow to then see what I need to crop.

As far as I can work out, however, I am only able to zoom IN and not OUT. Well at least not smaller than 100% which, in my case, is still too big.

Any ideas?

MS Paint is (like nearly all Microsoft programs) totally pathetic. It's an incredibly basic bitmap editor which, as far as I'm aware, doesn't offer the facility you're seeking.

Use some decent software instead. Irfanview is an excellent image-viewing program, which offers loads of image manipulation facilities as well. It's totally free, here:

If you're going to be doing a great deal of image manipulation you might want to take a look at GIMP. It's very similar to Photoshop (which means that it's incredibly flexible but takes quite a while to get to grips with) but totally free:

Another free program which is well worth a look is Serif PhotoPlus SE:
