Just seen on the news the civil servant responsible for leaking to the Tory MP details of labours shambles, which resorted to them getting the old bill in to silence it has been sacked.

Is this right or is it control freak McBottle showing what happens to anyone who questions the stalinist regime in power?

He broke his contract by "leaking" confidential material.

He knew he was risking the sack.

Any Company would do the same thing.
Tht's true.

If I took company papers to the press I'd expect the same.

He's lucky not to be prosecuted.

I'm pretty sure if you had an employee who did that to you you'd scream to high heaven.

Try another tack - this horse won't run!
It's general socialist principle YMB. Remember when Kinochio was put in charge of rooting out corruption in the EU? The first thing he did was fire the bloke who blew the Whistle on the endemic corruption. This is no different, essentially Labour loves corruption but hates getting caught and when they do they just offer up one of the backroom boys as a sacrifice.
Two names

Margaret Thatcher

Clive Ponting

If you're too young Google them - then we'll talk about Stalinist regiemes
He broke the Official Secrets Act as well, he's lucky to get off so lightly.
..... and another thing they do is try to change the subject!
I can't believe it took Jake 11 minutes to bring Thatcher into the thread. He normally does it in under 10.

He was found Not Guilty of breaking the Official Secrets Act

You do have a point Jake, but given the circumstances it does lead to suspicion of labour bullying. It is no secret Brown is a bully control freak so it is a valid question.

How many laws Thatcher vs how many laws Blair ?

How many cameras and databases for Thatcher. she was many things but Stalinist ?

R1Geezer

Who sent Sarah Tisdall to prison for a similar crime?

Who prosecuted Clive Ponting for leaking Government information?

Who sacked Patrick Haseldine for going to the papers?

Do you remember Geezer?

This civil servant is lucky just to have been sacked,
I refer to Margaret Thatcher as Stalinist because of the way she ran her Government with a very central dictatorial hand.

I certainly think you'll have difficulty making Gordon Brown out to be more of a control freak than Margaret Thatcher.

The spitting image joke "What about the vegtables?", "They'll have the same as me!" was funny because it was pretty close to the mark
