I have heard the end of the world is in 2012 and the people that tell me are very serious...

I don't know wether to laugh or cry...

Well you will be the one laughing at them in 2013. People have been falling for this "end of the world" nonsense for generations.

Ask them for a reasonable explanation of why they think it will end. That should shut them up.
