Hi
I have been painfuly thin all my life, but when I reached 30....bang.....a massive spare tyre appeared. I eat cereal at breakfast along with fruit juice, an apple and orange at 10am, a sandwich and crisps at 1pm and thats it for the day. Yet, I still put on weight. I also exercise 30 minutes everyday around teatime. I assume there is a problem with my nutrition. I used to eat massive amounts of food with no weight change. I am now 33. Any ideas?

How many calories are you now consuming daily? You say you used to eat more, which your body was used to, so now you are eating less, it sounds as though your body has gone into "starvation mode" and is storing fat, your metabolism will also slow down, if you are not eating enough.

Perhaps you need to look at what you are eating, although you are eating less, maybe your saturated fat content in foods has increased. What kind of exercise are you doing?

I use a cross trainer, so get the cardio workout. I can't do much more due to a sports injury. I consume around 1500 cals daily. I have heard of this 'starvation mode' before. Is there a way to reverse your metalbolism or is it too late?
