Hi All,

New to the forum, but hope someone can help me as I am really stumped.

I am looking at the mother in law PC, she has a HP desktop, and HP monitor, she started to get a message saying "Monitor going to sleep2 it then switched off, and now she is getting "No Input signal"

She brought the desktop to me, and I replaced the VGA cable, as this was my first thought, still get the same message, so I tried to connect her monitor to my laptop using the same cables, and the monitor loaded up and showed my laptop main window, so this ruled out any fault with the monitor.

Whilst the monitor was connected to my laptop I reset all the monitor settings to factory settings.

I then wanted to rule out the desktop, so i borrowed a desktop, that was working when disconnecting it, I connected up her monitor to this desktop, and got the same message "No input signal"

I am now really stumped, as th emonitor works on my laptop so this seems OK, but the monitor does not work on 2 desktops, 1 of which was working a few hours ago before borrowing it.

I can not get in the Bios settings on the desktop as I cant connect a monitor or get any picture. I have also just noticed that the keyboard lights do not come on, despite the keyboard being connected to the desktop, not sure if this could be related? The mouse does light up.

Please can someone help a man struggling with his mother in law to get their PC sorted as I have now run out of idea's...

I am not 100% technical so if the advice is something really technical, instructions would be appreciated.

Many thanks

It seems problem with your computer VGA card. May be it gone faulty. On other hand RAM or Motherboard issue. It is possibility some hardware failure. You should consult your hardware vendor.
