We have our new pup coming home in two weeks (so excited)
And I was wondering can I take him to the vets for his first set of jabs on the same day we bring him home?
TIA x

Give your vet a call because some practices vary as to the age at which pup can receive his first injections.
I would give him a couple of days to settle, as you want everything to be as normal as possible when they receive their vaccinations. Also do not let your vet give him worm or flea treatments as the same time as the vaccinations. One dose of chemicals is enough for the little body to cope with at a time. Each of these should be done separately. Carry him out and about with you and he will get to meet people and see something of the outside world. If you live near fields or country lanes you can put him down but if you live in a town keep him away from where other dogs go such as parks. Enjoy!
Unless you already have a vet for any other pets you may have, find out where your nearest is, pay them a visit and they'll be only too happy I'm sure to give you relevant advice as well as a few useful leaflets as well. Plus you may be able to register the little fella with them in advance. Not to mention an opportunity for you to "suss" the practice out.

Happy days with your new little sprog when it arrives.
ask the vet if they do puppy socialisation. The groups are for pups before they have finished their vacs and can go out amd meet ther dogs. I took our two and it was lovely for both pups and owners and a good start on early training and socialisation...also lods of good advice

Thanks Pipsy3, lankeela, paraffin and woofgang for answering.

We'll be making that call pipsy. Thanks

He'll be having his worm treatment in the morning before we pick him up so maybe we should wait lankeela. We're hopefully going to let him in our garden to begin with.Thankyou x

We used to use the vet we're going to use and they seem very nice. Thanks paraffin x

And woofgang, I like the idea of socializing him as we haven't anyone around us that have dogs. We're the first so maybe we've started something...lol. Thanks x
