storing a sponge

i need to keep an iced sponge for two weeks. Will it be too warm to keep it in the house? Will it be too cold to keep it in the garage?
help!

When the icing has set wrap the cake in tin foil and store in an airtight container in a cool place. The garage will be fine,.

The cooler, the better. A freezer would be best of all.

You can freeze a sponge, that might be the best option. Don't know about the icing, but I should think it would be ok

I usually freeze mine and they always come out OK. Let it defrost at room temperature.

i was going to freeze it, but someone said that the cake will be wet next to the icing when it defrosts

You're right - the cake shouldn't be frozen after icing. I wonder if the egg in the sponge will be ok after 2 weeks?

well, i haven't made it. The lady at the bakers said it would keep for up to three weeks.

i just wondered if my kitchen would be too warm.
