I have a problem. Listening to the radio whilst at work, the presenter (radio 2,and local radio) says 'Coming up soon a classic from the 70s/80s,by Cockney Rebel/Squeeze or Elvis Costello.I think 'Great,Oh no',three bands and the only three they play are 'Come up and see me(make me smile),Labled with Love and Oliver's army.Whats the problem,I'm sick of just hearing the same three records by these great artists...What about...'Judy Teen,Mr.Soft/'Take me i'm yours,COOL FOR CATS,'Pulling mussels'/'Watching the detectives,(i don't want to go to)Chelsea,'Radio Radio,New Amsterdam.

Which one of these would you like to hear ?. Can we do anything about it ?.

P.S. I'm a big fan of Glam rock.

my head hurts

yeh i feel the same way but too tired to do much about it, howabout you wirte a letter to them complaining on behalf of all of us.  you seem to like writing.  Alternatively you change station or get a DAB digital radio, lots of choice there.  though after extensive listening even that becomes repetitive as radio stations only have a few songs by each artist.  my suggestion? buy an ipod, best radio station ever!

3styler,you have hit the nail on the head.we are the listeners and we should have some sort of feedback.Dateline sunday morning'Steve Wright sunday love songs' .I just wanna throw up,maybee i'm different but Lionel Ritchie and PHIL'B****y Collins,i just want to put a hammer into my radio .

Lets mix it,play some Ted Nugent,Motorhead,Black Sabbath,or anything  but just mix it.

Every sunday morning it's PAP ,some good PAP but,go back to when you were  young and were about to meet your future wife/partner or what ever. WHAT WAS PLAYING?,WHAT DO YOU REMEMBER.I MET MY WIFE DURING 'RADAR LOVE BY GOLDEN EARING'The next record played was 'Loving you is easy cos your beautiful' by Minnie Ripperton but Golden Earing was the one that done it for me...(Actually it was 'Never let her slip away' by Andrew Gold)...Anyway,Sunday or any part of the weekend is not a time to play just Phil ******* Collins or Lino.Lets have ;Hawkwind, Nat King Cole ,Slade, ELLA FITZGERALD,Motorhead,Nora Jones But not just the same old S***.What was the record playing when YOU met your partner/Girlfriend ...Sunday Bl***y Love Songs?????????????'Whatever cracks your Egg.

3Styler.Thank you for replying, your opinion is welcome......How many Tom Waits tracks can you tell me,orAndrew Gold or Led Zeppelin or Hawkwind or Justin Timberlake or Jim Reeves or Alice Cooper or Jerry Lee Lewis or 50$ or Nervous Norvus or Tony Christie..?

do yourself a favour and don't listen to the radio. Anyone who is serious about music will be left wanting by the repetitious sugar coated cr@p  on 99% of the stations.

Just go out and find music you like. I learned far more about music by NOT listening to the radio.

I agree with Romko, you're always just going to hear the same stuff on the radio, DJs have an approved playlist and can't really stray from that too much.

I haven't listened to the radio in about 18 months but i've discovered heaps of new bands anyway.

if you listen to radio 2 in the afternoon, youi could send in your list of oldies to steve wright be played, and then you could have whatever tracks you like.  Unfortunately this would only last for 1 day!

alternitively, you could get an mp3 player to listen to while atr work

Radio 2 played Mr Soft just a few days ago, can't remember when exactly as I was driving at the time.
'Sebastian' in full! That would shut them up.
i dont understand why do you want me to name tracks? led zepellin are one of my favourite bands of all time, over the hills and far away, whole lotta love, kashmir, heartbreaker, Balck dog, immigrant song and of course the exceptional stairway to heaven.  but what point are you getting asking me to name tracks??
