My daughters boyfriend lives in Greece he is 19 years old and Albanian he has lived in Greece for 12 years with his family who are both employed in Greece, he has attended school there since 1997. He is considering coming to University in England and we are finding it difficult to get advice as to his status. As he has lived in Greece for 12 years could he be classed as an EU student. He seems to hit brick walls everytime he asks for help in Greece unless he is prepared to bribe someone in authority. Can anyone help or advise us of someone who can. He has already visited UK on a 6 month visa, but the person at the visa office suggested that he might not actually need a visa?

Albania is not an EU member. The boy is not Greek unless he has applied for naturalisation (usually occurs after min 5 years residency).

Whether or not he would be granted Greek status depends on whether or not he has breached immigration rules. His parents should be able to tell him his status and you should be able to determine this from his passport.

A VISA is required for Albanian nationals
Not entitled to free UK uni.....Greece has universities. You could invite him to stay & be educated at your expense.....uni's dont refuse privately paid fees.
