Thank you both. I'm ok with the frame but not sure about crooks, compost etc and how deep should this be. The bed will be 12inches deep a neighbour will do it for me he says he has the treated wood to do it. 6ft x 4ft x 12inches deep.

Thank you both for your replies.
Hi Elderly,

I used, used scaffolding boards obtained for 4 each from the local scaffolding firm.

They are just the right height and can be adapted to any size you want.

Thank you all for your help. Now I need to know how to prepare it. In my previous script I wrote 'crooks' of course i meant 'CROCKS' what will be my next step before I sow my seeds?
Hi,

If you are starting now and puting your raised bed on top of your lawn or a grassy area you must first remove all the lawn or grass, then double dig your bed, put in a few bags of multipurpose compost - rake over and plant your seeds or plants.

If you were preparing it for next year then I would double dig incorporating a good proportion of well rotted horse manure.
