I have a young fig tree which I think needs to be re-potted into a slightly bigger home. Is now a good time to do it, and which compost would be most appropriate? John Innes 2, 3 or A.N. Other. It's a couple or 3 years old, hasn't fruited yet - don't know whether that is relevant. Also, any other advice that may be useful to me in my quest for fresh, home-grown figs!! Thank you in anticipation. Sovay

Now is a good time and JI number 3 is good to use. Ensure good drainage at the bottom of the pot, do not over-pot it as they fruit better with some root restriction and plenty of light and warmth required.
