Thank you Mamyalynne. I am not sure about this one simply because the clue says "we hear" which in my experience of crosswords etc usually means that the actual answer sounds like the real answer to the clue ie sounds like Alaska. What does anyone else think? Ruth

Its not necessarily going to sound like Alaska, but it could sound like a PLACE in Alaska.Hope that helps.

we hear, often means a different spelling but pronounced the same. I think I may be in a muddle!

I have now decided to concentrate on the answers to my questions 2 and 3 as I am completely stuck on those two. I have now solved (with your help) the other ones. Ruth
