In a recent promotional advert, it appeared this was being pronounced as mo-ette. I had always assumed that this was incorrect. In an episode of The Royle Family, Jim is heard to say of his glass of pomagne - This is every bit as good as mo-ette. I had always assumed that the correct french pronunciation was mo-ay.

Can anyone advise?

OK...the bottom of the bottle with Loius Roederer is FLAT all the other Champagne bottles have a concave bottom.

Not a lot of people know that (in my Michael Caine impersonation) LOL

If I can put in my twopence.....It's actually pronounced "mwaytte eh chandon", not mo-ette.
You shouldn't accentuate the "o", it sounds weird, it's pronounced as one syllable, not two. :O)
