laxatives whilst pregnant

my daughter is 13wks pregnant and is suffering with constipation. Is it safe to take laxatives at this time.

a natural cure is sweetcorn, but obviously she should also increase her fluid intake.
Yes....providing it is a mild laxative e.g Fybogel.

Increase fliud intake, plenty of vegetables and exercise.
does she have much fruit in her diet? if not, i suggest eating fruit or drinking fruit juice. works for me :)
I used Lactulose during pregnancy - you can buy it over the counter at the pharmacy, it's suitable for use during pregnancy and after a few days, your bodily functions return to normal - no running to the toilet!!

thanks for all your help fresh orange has seemed to do the trick. She seems to have gone of all her food lately but early days yet heres hoping she gets back to normal soon.
