Is a reversing light necessary for an MOT or is it optional?

If the light is fit to the car it has got to work or it will fail the MOT.
If its an addition to the car and can be removed then you can remove it and leave the car without any reversing lighs then that ok and it willl pass.

actually bigjugs i'm pretty sure it is optional

reverse lights are non-testable items
