I have a 3yr old HP psc 1200 all in one printer/scanner/copier, and a brand new laptop running on Windows 2007. I have just tried to install my printer onto the laptop but the message "This program has known compatibility issues" is coming up (says that it is incompatible with this version of Windows).
I've tried both the HP and Windows websites but can't seem to find an answer to my problem on either.
Can anyone out there assist me? It has to be in baby speak as I'm not very good with technology!

Thanks

Windows 2007???

Do you mean vista?

anyhow, no vista drivers available for that printer but it should work with the built in drivers in vista but with limited functionality.

Sorry, told you I was daft with technology et al!

Laptop came with Vista but I had that Microsoft Office 2007 loaded on. You know the one. PC World were doing a deal on it at Christmas. I just find Office so much easier to work with!
Office is nothing to do with this, office is just a set of programs that run on your computer under vista which is the operating system that runs your computer.

You install the printer on vista and then any program that wants to use a printer (such as office) can print to it.
there isn't an operating system called windows 2007--you probably have windows xp or vista if ur laptop is quite new--either of these should deal with ur printer but u may have to get up to date drivers (a driver is a program ur computer needs to talk to and control anything plugged in to it)--i guess u r using an installation disk which came with ur printer and the drivers on that may be out of date--google for "hp psc 1200 drivers" and u should get links to sites--most likely tho u will get up to date drivers on the hp website--cheers
guess others can type quicker than me--lol
all the above is correct peachey, I had exactly the same problem with my lappy and the old HP printer. the ink had almost run out so I found it easier to buy the updated HP printer/scanner/copier, with ink and compatible software, for 30. I think you can still get them for that price form Wilkinsons, and Rovert Dyas are doing something similar.

ajmmac - The HP website said that there were no drivers available for my "combination" (my words) at this time.

ChuckFickens - Ta ever so! (Yet again. You helped me out before!)

sara3 - I suppose in the worl of computers my printer is a little old! Seems a bit of retail therapy is called for.
I don't know if you have tried this site. I had trouble when I got a new laptop with vista installed as I had an old HP all in one. I was able to use it for printing but it would not scan. However, I was able to find a download for "full feature and drivers". If you put in the model number of you all in one, hopefully you will have success.

Actually, I'd try this link - download the driver and, hopefully, all will be well.

Good luck.
