can i rightly presume that its not normal to have ice on the inside of your windscreen?

my oh says not, but when i tried to book the car for a warranty check they tried to tell me that condensation from the ac was causing it.
first thing in the morning after thick frost and not driven the car for 12 hours I think not!

i rarely use the air con so i insisted on taking it in on friday

can someone give me any other advice?
thanks

Has the car been valeted? this in turn causing the inside to be damp, when you go into the car with wet shoes, wet floor mats can also cause it.
Yes it is perfectly normal to have ice on the inside in a hard frost.

When I had my Clio that used to get ice on the inside after a cold and frosty night.

thanks, seems that there may be a seal leak somewhere then - as i thought - def to the garage coz its still under warranty
You should be sure to make regular use of your aircon!

The gas in the system contains a essential lubricating oil to make sure all seals etc. are lubricated and gas tight. Run it at least 30 minutes per week (yes, even in the winter!) to ensure that all parts of the system are lubricated and that no gas escapes, and the aircon performs correctly.

In addition - aircon systems include a dryer, so using it will extract moisture from the air as it is recirculated.(and is responsible for the puddle under your car when stood after use!)

Remember it isn't just there for cooling, but is air conditioning, which could just as well be heating!!
I've had many cars without air conditioning and they have all iced up in the winter inside.
A/C will never cause condensation, it will actually dry the air in the car !

A/C will not switch on below 4-5 degrees anyway !
For ice to form on the inside you must have condensation.

You probably have a leak letting rainwater in. Check the carpets under the mats for moisture.
