smelly cupboards problem

i have a problem with my kitchen cupboards they smell awful of stale water, i had a flood about a year ago but the cupboard has always smelled a bit but it is worse since , there isnt any water there under the cupboard , i have tried everything ,bi carb ,lemon, bleach, deodoriser, pot pourri, vinegar, nothing works,i dont know what else to try , i wont use them cos of the smell, which is a waste, please help

just a suggestion but what about a fridge deoderisor
You may have to seal the inside of your cabinets with a varnish, or polyurethane finish. This will take some elbow grease wafting a paint brush around, but that is what it takes sometimes to get the "old" smell out of antique furniture!
The smell of the varnish is also rather potent while working and for a few days after, so use some good ventilation!
