Sofa Problem

Hi, I wonder if anyone can give me any advice.

I recently moved into a new house, it's a three bedroom townhouse with the living room on the 2nd floor. I have two new sofa's. The larger one breaks down into two halfs and I managed to get this upstairs fine. However, the smaller one will not fit up the stairs!!

I have tried unscrewing some small legs on the bottom, and it still would not fit. The banisters on my stairs do not come off either.

One possiblilty is to try and get if lifted up though the upstairs window although I'm not sure how I would go about getting this done. Someone mentioned that I should contact an upholsterer to take the chair apart move upstairs then put back together.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

I had exactly the same problem. We have a large corner unit which breaks down into three so you have two two seater settees with an arm at one end and the corner bit. It was a struggle but got it upstairs and then lifted it over the bannister rail on to the landing and then into the living room. A neighbour used a forklift truck don't know where he got it from. Good Luck!!!!!
my friend had the same problem, she ended up paying for someone to take it apart and put it back together again i think it cost her about 70 in all good luck
