My friend had a cesarean at 4.50 this morning, she has a partner, parents and three sisters to help her do the things she is unable to like lifting and things, although, of course, I will help if and when she needs me to, but what gift could I buy that will be nice for someone who has had a cesarean? Are you able to use bath creams, etc as normal? Thanks xx

(Oh, and she and her little boy are doing fine, he weighs 7lb8oz) xx

She may not be able to use some bath products straight away but there is nothing stopping her keeping it for when she can use it and I'm sure that the gift will be much appreciated.
buy her some giant apple catcher pants.

dont buy her a hula hoop :)

I dont know about bath creams, i expect she has to keep the wound clean, how about some nice relaxing candles or a nursing pillow to help keep the weight of baby off her tum.

a good book, if shes to be in hospital a few days?
Oooooh those apple catchers. Just out of mine last week.
I had a bath after about a week so I reckon bath smellies would be a good present. Although I've found you dont get long to soak with a baby though do you?!! ;o)

Thanks everyone xx

Lolly, it's more of a sheep dip now than a bath isn't it? Gone are the days when i used to spend an entire evening soaking, plucking, defuzzing, smoothing, filing and painting..... lol
buy her some lavender oil to put in her bath help with heeling and is really relaxing :) x
lots of choccies
Depending on how much you plan to spend but what about a gift certificate at a salon for when she is getting out and about again? A couple of hours off to be pampered with either a manicure and hand massage or a cut and blow dry is a present I definately would have loved lol

I might make up a little pampering kit. I don't want to get flowers because a) she probably has loads and b) she is staying at her mum's for a few weeks whilst she needs help with things.

Thanks for all the ideas!

Psy, that is so true - I got a box of Cadburys Heroes whenBI had baby and what Mr Nat didn't eat, my nan smuggled into her hand bag and took home with her!
The best gift i had after having my daughter was a chocolate cake! I was sooo tired that i couldnt be bothered to cook, that cake never tasted so good lol. That aside why dont you offer to take her out for a meal in a couple of weeks or a voucher for a massage in your local salon
