Does any body know how far away a bus stop should be from you property. I have been informed that I am having one directly outside my front door.
I presume that I will also have gangs of kids
alcohol bottles noise and rubbish.
Thanks in advance for any answers

I would have thought if its on public highway/pavement then you really have no say
a bus stop or a bus shelter. Not all stops have shelters.

a lot of modern shelters arent very comfy and i doubt kids would want to hang around them for long

yes I appreciate that. I presume there is a set distance. I am thinking about privacy and overlooking my bedroom.
if it's just on the pavement outside your house (bunglaow??) then anyone could just stand there and look into your bedroom anyway perfectly legally, so i feel you would not have a leg to stand on.
in the village I live in there are bus stops that are virtually touching the front wall of houses so I suspect that, as others have said, there is no minimum distance.
You could try and call your local council and ask them?
It's the council that decide where the stops go, not the bus company
My mum and dad have a bus stop right at their gate. Granted their house sits a good few feet back from the garden boundary but it needn't do. I would presume that if your front foor opens directly onto a public pavement then the council could site a bus stop there if they wanted to.
