Anyone installed one? -I would like to know if I also need a multi-media streamer to add compatability & connection to our LCD Philips TV.....?
I wish to have access via our home network to all my movie & music files conveniently watch/listen downstairs....

Normally yes you would, a NAS box is storage only so has no multimedia functions.

You can get all in one boxes that would do everything though.

a nas box is just a diddy pc ... so you get what you pay for .... obviously the size/number of disks will affect price

but also a decent processor will run more services ... it depends on the box .... mine has web, ftp, media streaming and nas built in ...

but will also cost more
you really need to set a budget (�70 - �750 ish)
and then do some research.

dont forget the MS home server option also
