damp in the home

what can be causing severe damp in my bungalow. have central heating and leave windows open but still have black in ceiling corners and shoes go green when left in the bedroom, any help please, would be appreciated. many thanks.

I think perhaps you should get a damp survey carried out. perhaps it's something to do with the external walls. Perhaps they need need treatment.

Do you by any chance use a Tumble dryer or dry things on radiators? My elderly mother has a bungalow and has the same problem, but I think hers is caused by her unvented Tumble Dryer.
We had a similar problem, to do with ventilation, this company was recommended, one of their reps came round, we bought a product, (not cheap), but the problem cleared up almost overnight, excellent.

btw, we are also in a Bungalow, the problem occurred when we had the Chimney amd Chimney breast removed, we didn't realise that that was our main source of ventilation.

Can't do much for your health either. Have you considered using a dehumidifier. When we had this problem it sucked in lirtes of water every night. In our case it was the far bedroom where the radiator was the coolest and seemed to attract all dampness from the rest of the house.
