Maternity Allowance

I had not been in my new job long enough when I fell pregnant to receive maternity pay from them, so have applied for maternity allowance which I have been accepted for.
I used to do a little bit of part time self employed work, only earning a few pound a month. Does anyone know if I can still continue to do this or will it mean the jobcentre stop my maternity allowance. Is there a limit of an amount I could earn per month whilst still receiving maternity allowance? Or am I not allowed to work at all.
