My sister has to have a smallish procedure (gynecological ) and is scared stiff of being "put out " shes asked me to go into theatre with her as shes so scared of having it done , im squeamish with things like this as it is but want to be there for her ... shel be awake for this and il be there to hold her hand , will it be an epidural shel have does anyone know? she wont ask as she said the least she knows the better ! not looking forward to this at all but shes my sister and i love her and want to help anyway i can

first up, will you be allowed to go in? I don't think that's normal procedure. there's no point in making such plans if you can't do it anyway.

second.. she can't be "put out" and "be awake". she really needs to find out a bit before she has this done.. she needs to mentally prepare herself.

depending on what she's having done, she may have a local in her cervix. I would think an epidural would be for something a bit more "in depth".
