Pips Why are you afraid of dying? Simplest way to gather it is that had it been so scary then there would have been few people who could avoid it. Why be scared of something that is so inevitable. Do you remember about your birth? Are you afraid of falling asleep ever night? Death is just like sleep. The only difference is that you wake up in the morning. But still if you do not wake up in the morning, would you remember that you never woke up? I dont think so.

I have been in the situation twice where my heart stopped and can only say it was a very calm and peaceful experience.I never saw any bright lights or looked down on my own body etc. I am definitely not frightened of death now.
Sorry, it came out all wrong. What I mean is I'm afraid of HOW I'm going to die. I would love to just fall asleep and never wake up as that is the best way to go isn't it? I just think that the way things go for me it won't be that simple!
I can understand that pips. The thought of dying a painful death is frightening, but none of us, whatever our instincts tell us, can know what the future holds, so best not to dwell on the possibility. Apart from that, the chances are, with treatments available these days to keep people comfortable, it won't happen. Just try to forget it and enjoy living. Worry can make you ill, you know. :o)
