Anyone know why the AB site Search comes back with ''No Relevant Questions found.'', whatever word you enter? Frustrating, or what?? ;-(

I thought it was just me - I'm glad it's the site!
I tried searching on something in AB the other day and whatever I put it in returned no hits.

It used to work.
The search engine is part of the same system which lets you view all of your posts, via clicking on 'Profile'. For some reason, the system frequently 'times out' before yielding any results, so you either see 'Timed out' (when trying to view your own posts) or 'No relevant questions found' (when performing more general searches).

The problem used to occur about 20% of the time. Nowadays the system only seems to work about 20% of the time.

It's been reported to AB's techies dozens of times but, apart from occasional temporary improvements, it just seems to get worse.

(PS: I'll send a link to this post to the techies, so they can't say that nobody tells them about the problems!)
better translate it into Spanish then!
Sorry, hadn't actually finished my post.

The best way to search this site at the moment is using google. Goto http://www.google.co.uk and type in

your search term site:www.theanswerbank.co.uk

And it will search AB only for your search term

Thanks, Chuck - great tip, and instant response via Google. Maybe it would be easier for AB's techies just to set up a redirect!!
