Are the fruits of the common passion flower edible?

they are edible when ripe but do not taste very nice.

Be sure you have the common variety (caerulea) if you are going to taste them as many passion flower fruits are toxic and contain cyanide.

Thanks, I think I'll give it a miss just in case and stick to passion fruit juice!
if you want to get an unusual crop off your garden, let your fucj=hsias go to seed. they maker small purple fruits that are edible and may be used to make jam...never done it myself though
