I've almost finished my homework for tomorrow (preparing a 15 minutes teaching session), and I can't believe how much longer everything is taking me!!! lol
I went to a tough Uni, so I thought I was used to studying, but I guess after 6 years, you lose the habit!

Anyone else going back to school?

Thanks Sara! I guess I could have started studying before the day it was due...lol
It's only the teacher checking our work tomorrow, the actual teaching is next week. I'm crapping myself at the thought! lol
Max - years ago, I qualified as an adult education teacher (not a proper teacher!!). It used to take me AGES to prep for each lesson. My first lesson was an absolute horror. But after a couple I got into it and it became really easy. The next year it was even easier, because I already had all my lesson plans. SOmetimes, I wish I hadn't given it up!!

I am going back to school tomorrow though. I am helping a local school with an advocacy competition so atm I teach for an hour a week. Tomorrow we are doing cross examination, so I need to get on and prep it. Tbh, teaching is a bloody sight scarier than being before a High Court Judge any day!!!!!!

It scares the hell out of me, Barmaid! The one next week is only 15 minutes, and in front of my fellow students who are all very nice, so it shouldn't ne hard...but it is! lol

It will be my absolute first time teaching anything...Argh!

I'm doing this to be able to start teaching French in further ed, so I guess I'd better get used to it...
It will scare the hell out of you! It jolly well did me. But remember, your fellow students are all feeling exactly the same. And generally, you are your own worst critic. They will be extremely supportive of you. And hey, everything we do for the first time is going to be a bit rough round the edges! This is the sort of skill that requires practice and experience. In a few weeks time, you will feel so much different.

Good luck, I am sure you will be fine!
do you intend teaching fench to Belfast folk Max
Question Author
Thanks for the encouragement, Barmaid! I know we are all in the same boat, really. However, speaking in front of people has never been my "thing"....lol
I have a few friends who have started teaching French without qualifications, and are fine...that reassures me a bit, too!
