I have been charged with abh and am wondering if anyone can advise me on a likely sentence. I walked up and hit a guy who made my sister cry, then kicked and punched him numerous times after he tryed to get away. A few other friends also kicked him. There is cctv of the incident and it looks bad. It was drunken and outside a nightclub.
i am going to plead guilty
have cooperated with police
have no previous
am remorseful
have a job and character witness statements, including one from my employer

any ideas of what will happen?

ABH is an either way offence, which carries a maximum sentence of 5 years
If you and your mates beat the hell out of this bloke for making your sister cry, then I dread to think what you'd have done to him if he spilled his drink on her or accidentally bumped into her.You deserve to get the full 5 years.
