Is it a positive test?!?!?!?!??!?!

Hi All,

I was due to start my 2nd period following a miscarriage in August - no sign yet so.....

I have just not been able to hold back any longer and have just done a test!!

I've done a Boots one with the round and square windows. This is what it showed;

Round window - very dark vertical line (when looking at stick placed horizontally)

Square window - paler horizontal line and VERY faint vertical line. So faint I has almost disregarded the test as a negative, until DH pointed out the very light vertical line making a positive.

What are your opinions is ANY line a positive or is it really too faint to be able to call a positive?? Sorry, just so desperate to see a cross on the stick!! Any advise recommended.

Like I said one line is obvious (the one which would show a negative result) the other is really very faint!

Thank you, advice very much welcomed!

Thanks LittleMiss, I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed, but don't want to get hopes up if I am 'imagining' a line!!
Congrats on your baby!!
me too had a really strong line with my daughter but the line n the test for my son was soo faint i took loads and still didnt quite believe it until i demanded the midwife try to hear his heartbeat when i was 11wks pregnant! that settled me finally!!!
My lines were very feint for first few tests but gradually got stronger, then really dark after about 100 or so!!! I think generally they say if there's a line in the right box at all then its detected the pregnancy hormone, but I think you need to do more tests. Do them 1st thing in the morning too. I dont really know about the round/square window thing cos I never used Boots tests and they all ask you to look for different symbols in different shaped boxes, but presumably one is to confirm its worked and the other is to indicate +/-? I'd say it sounds good if theres a line in them both!!
Good luck, hope its good news x
ok im hoping you have got the positive you want but when did u see the faint line? if it was a long time after taking the test then it may have been an evaporation line.

fingers crossed for you

I've just done another test tonight, the faint line that I got yesterday was still very faint again today, but I think not quite as faint as yesterday!!!
I've now bought a digital one which I'll use in a couple of days if nothing else has happened by then.

I can't wait much longer, I to know one way or another!!
HI lu, i did my tests on a saturday and sunday and both times I got a very faint line that appeared straight away, I did my third test on the following wednesday morning and my husband accused me of doctoring the test with a felt pen! Hospital told me that the HCG hormone doubles every 24 hrs with a "normal" pregnancy. Good luck, let us know how you get on. X

I used the digital one today, it gives a + or - sign so no lines to try to work out and..... hooray it was a + !!!

I just hopes this one lasts and in July we'll have what we've been waiting for for ages!!!
