My son has bought a Citroen Saxo 1.1 today. It "stalled" 4 times on the 20 mile journey home. It had been pressure washed by the garage including the engine and it feels and sounds like there might be water in the engine itself. Is this possible and if so, how do we sort it out? What is the likely damage that could be caused by driving it as it is?

i doubt there would be water in the engine,
i doubt if you would notice that,
its probably the ignition system thats got a bit damp, and its misfiring, get some wd40 and spray it around all the ignition components under the bonnet,

or

give the garage a ring and tell them

many thanks kujawski will try WD40 1st then ring garage if still have problems!
Don't know the layout of the engine in question but if the spark plugs are mounted vertically on top of the cylinders then pressure washing an engine can mean that water sits in the spark plug wells and cause problems. Packing the wells with kitchen roll, then using a hairdrier before adding WD40 can sort this on most occasions
