Please don't get a tattoo. They are extremely cheap and tacky.
Lucy Thomas, did you go away? I haven't seen you around here in a while. Hope you are well. x
I sat in chinese restaurant 20 years ago and the waiters were laughing at this guy. He got a bit annoyed and asked them what they were laughing at. They pointed to the tat on his bicep that he thought said "strong and courageous". They informed him it actually said "fat, white b**tard."

Tattoos are really tacky Becca and are soooo Vicky Pollard. If you carry around a jaffa orange instead it could be 'Juicy Lucy'?!
Tattoos aren't "tacky' if they're properly done by an artist. But too many people have rubbishy work in ill-chosen places. A woman's tattoo should be in one her beautiful parts - the shoulder, the stomach. Remember that your lovely tattoo will fade in time to a rather unpleasing smudge, so you may want to think about what you'll want when you're forty.

The website gives "the Chinese for Lucy" but it isn't clear to a non-reader like if that's just the symbols for the sounds lu -si.

The name Ming in Chinese means bright , shining, so perhaps that's a good translation.
Just think what seems like a good idea now you may regret in 5,10,15 or 20 years time yet a tattoo is for life- so please think carefully before you approach a tattooist. Jewellery with your name on is far better as you can take jewellery off to suit plus jewellery is painless especially if it is just a necklace, earrings or bracelet in gold or silver.
Lucy is a pretty name by the way. Have no tattoos or ever want any. Husband has a few small tatoos yet he regrets having them now. See beyond his tattoos. We all do stuff we regret later- part of life. Yet, you have the chance to not even go there- just a thought.

Just seen the date- you've probably made the choice already anyhow ;-) Just hope you will not become a tattoo lady. Where used to live there was a man covered in tattoos. Most people avoided him as even his whole face was tatooed- he looked pretty scary. Yet, one day a child approached him, true story, and said to him,"You must have really been hurting to do that to yourself." He then cried infront of the child- the wisdom from the mouths of babes.
You can wear artwork in clothes or have it hung in your house withought drawing it on your body in the form of tattoos. Why inflict pain on self when you can be beautiful painfree. Beauty, true beauty is from within anyhow- do not need a tattoo or plastic surgery to make you beautfiul! Ciao, Beatrice, a dynamic thinker who dares to be different ;-)
