Hallo
My Staffordshire Bull terrier has developed an allergy over the last few months and is constantly scratching but neither me nor the vet know the cause. She is not making sore patches or anything and not losing fur but she is constantly scratching. she hasn't got fleas.
Does anyone know of anything that would help the irritation, maybe a homoeopathic remedy or something?
Many thanks

hi has ur dog been sitting near lots of heat, like a radiator? could b a heat rash or allergy? my dog had this,i just used 2 wash him once a week in dog medicted shampoo.
Eveing primrose oil was really good when my dog suffered from this. You can get an expensive veterinary type one but I just bought ordinary capsules and broke one a day and mixed it in with her food. It stopped her skin being so dry and flaky and itchy. The vet said it was OK to use the "human" sort by the way.
Has your vet checked for dermatitis probs and mites? ie. have they done a skin scrape?

i've got a staffie with allergies to 3 allergens in the house that cannot be avoided and therefore need an injection every month. Took a while for the vet to find out what it was until I put my foot down and told them to do something about it. They then decided to take blood tests and allergy test her and found the problem.
You could try Dermacton, 100% natural, no steroid spray, have heard some great feedback from Westie owners who suffer with allergy and skin complaints.

What are you feeding him? If it is a food that is high in protein then that may be causing irritation.
My dog had the same problem I had been feeding her the same dried food since she was born, occasionaly changing the flavour ( even though dogs dont taste like we do) I changed from turkey and rice to salmon and rice then she started to scratch I new it was not fleas as she has front line,.With in a week of taking her of salmon the scratching stopped.
