Except Brown didnt come up with the idea.

a) It was used in Sweeden 10 yrs ago and

2) It came from advice from Mervyn of the Bank of England.

Brown caused alot of this so how is he suddenly the saviour. What twaddle.

Its not over yet anyway, now comes the recession.
One thing's for sure, he's absolutely loving this crisis. It's the first time he's managed to look remotely competent since he took office.
It's a sort of Munchuasen's by proxy situation. Everyone flaps around in a panic while he gets to look all stoic and calm in the face of disaster, instead of just looking stoic and calm in the face of his own unpopularity.
According to a City Financial Editor, Brown's approach was first advocated late last year by the Governor of the Bank of England. Also, this system has been seen in Sweden, Japan and Finland.
