Where is it warm in January?? (For a holiday)

Can anyone recommend a warm country to go to for a holiday in January?
Ideally, somewhere within a flight time of 5 or 6 hours from the UK.
I have been looking at Egypt and The Canaries , but the weather forecasts in the brochures differ from the weather reports on line. I just want a place that is nice and warm, without any rain!
If any one has been to a good winter country I would appreciate any recommendations!

Both me & Mr O thought the local beers and spirits were fine.
I must add that we're dead common and will drink anything!

We went all inclusive the first time and B&B the second time as we felt we knew the resort well enough to eat out safely and neither of us are massive fans of buffets which have been on display for hours.

We stayed at the Hilton Hotel at Sharks Bay, Sharm. I can thoroughly recommend it.
