A person is entitled to work for 16.5 hours per week before it affects a claim for housing benefit. Take advice from your local Citizens' Advice Bureau if you are uncertain about your claim. On the other hand, your local council housing benefits section will also provide you with qualified advice.
Is this right? Surely teh earnings are relevant too. Someone working 15 hours a week could earn 300 a week. Surely that would affect their housing benefit?
The amount of hours you work has no bearing on housing benefit - it is the amount of savings you have and your weekly income.

If you have a low income and not much savings you can claim housing benefit.
