Not sure if this posted already. Sorry if it did!

I'm on day 29 of my cycle and no sign of my period. I have gone this long before but not since May. For the last 2 months I've been 26 days.

I would love to be pregnant - we've been trying for about 5 years now.

As I quite often imagine pregnancy symptoms and they are nothing, am I ignoring period signs!

Should I take a test and be really disappointed if it's negative?

Thanks everyone!

Hi doglady, I know how you feel! I have been off the pill for 3 years now and still haven't conceived. My husband and myself have both been tested for infertility but everything is ok! I have had a couple of periods that have come on day 34 of my cycle, but the majority of the time i am pretty regular.
Have either of you been tested for infertility? I know it's easier said then done, but don't get stressed about trying to conceive.
I would take a test and if negative re-test every few days until your period starts as I understand the pregnancy hormone gets stronger (if that makes sense!) Sorry to go on a bit, don't know if I've been much help but I know how you feel! and GOOD LUCK to you.x

Thanks for your answer. I'm now on day 30, with no sign of anything happening. I took a test last night (after my hubby couldn't wait till this morning!) but it was negative. So we had a massive row about it!! I'm going to give it a few days and see what happens.

I've been tested for hormone levels which were fine but I'm having a hell of a job trying to get him to do his sample. Goodness knows why.

I'll let you know how I get on.

x
Your welcome, it's nice to be able to 'chat' with someone who is in the same situation as me.
I thought my hubby would never do a sample! but he did, he even had to do it twice! Don't want to sound harsh, but if he won't do a test, how do you know it's not him with the problem. At least if he did it you'd know where you are and be able to move on eg:- with IVF or something.
Good luck once again.x
My ex and my daughter in law, took more than one test befiore they got a positive. That drove us to distraction seeing as she was so overdue.
Don't stress about it, it has been said that if you are stressed, generally your body has a fight or flight reaction where if you are not in a settled state as a reaction to your environment, your body will resist your efforts to get pregnant. You can see where that makes some sense, i don't know if it works though, but there's no harm in chilling out a bit.
